Walla Walla Valley Takes Center Stage
in 3rd Season of Wine Show “V is for Vino”
On April 29, “V is for Vino,” America’s #1 Wine show, released its third season with an episode centered around Washington’s Walla Walla Valley AVA. Hosted by sommelier Vince Anter, the third season focuses on “The Spirit of Community” found in wine regions throughout the U.S. and the relationships between the wine industry, locals, and visitors that make the wine region special.
“The difference between good and great wine regions are the people,” Anter explains. “In a year in which everyone had to rely on their community more than ever, we wanted to explore the risk-takers, innovators, and collaborative nature of wine regions.”
The Walla Walla Valley episode of the show features a variety of Walla Walla Valley wines and wine personalities. Episode highlights include Madeline Puckette, co-creator of Wine Folly, touring Walla Walla and tasting some of the Valley’s most revered wines – Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot – from Doubleback, Cayuse Vineyards and Leonetti Cellar.
In addition, Anter sits down with local wine industry members Daniel Wampfler & Amy Alvarez-Wampfler of Abeja Winery, Jordan Dunn-Small of Woodward Canyon, and Marty Clubb of L’Ecole N° 41, to discuss what makes the Walla Walla Valley AVA unique.
In addition to exploring the wines of the Walla Walla Valley, the episode also features local restaurant “Walla Walla Steak Company.” Anter talks with Dan Thiessen, Managing Partner, and then learns how to make one of Walla Walla Steak Company’s dishes and pair it with wine.
“The collaborative community is at the core of Walla Walla Valley Wine, and we are looking forward to sharing a glimpse into it throughout this episode of V is for Vino,” said Robert Hansen, Executive Director of Walla Walla Valley Wine. “This episode will provide wine enthusiasts around the globe a taste of what our region has to offer, and we hope that they will come experience the Walla Walla Valley for themselves.”
“V is for Vino” is not a TV show slated to be aired on a specific date. Instead, it is available to watch for free anytime on VisforVino.com, YouTube, Facebook Watch, Instagram TV and Roku. To learn more about the Walla Walla episode, visit: www.VisforVino.com/Walla-Walla.
